The Power Of Story

Sunday 8th April
It was lovely to meet and welcome the lady Anona met in hospital recently and Gary made us all laugh with his joy and giddiness at being alive and family together!

Gerald went on to provoke us to think about the power there is in telling our story and how we can affect those we come into contact with by sharing it. Years ago at a tent rally in Salisbury, Gerald will never forget hearing a senior police officer (the head of MI5) sharing that he had become a Christian because a dozen people told him their stories. The Bible is full of stories and technically Moses was the first man to download data on a tablet from the cloud – what a story that is! Gerald’s talk was packed full of references to powerful stories that have changed lives, do have a listen to enjoy the full impact.

A reminder that on Sunday April 22nd we have Ian Andrews with us. For those that don’t know, Ian Andrews has a remarkable healing ministry, so this will be an ideal opportunity to invite along any family, friends or neighbours that need healing.

Gerald also reminded us that there are five Sundays in April so it is suggested that we use the 5th Sunday for outreach. One group will be posting Engage cards through doors in Leatherhead and possibly knocking to ask if people would like prayer. Paul Weston challenged us to embrace three things – to be generous with our invitations, risky with our giving and to make ourselves available as volunteers!

Next Sunday 15th April
We will be meeting in our Engage@home Groups so please don’t turn up at the church halls because we won’t be there!

Volunteer Positions Available
If anyone would like to serve by helping set up for church on Sunday, or help with the PA, or on the hospitality or welcome teams, please do let Gerald know. It wouldn’t be every Sunday as we do already have a team of helpers but the more volunteers we have the less often the same people need be called upon.

Musicians And Singers
If anyone can sing or play an instrument and is interested in getting together to ‘make a joyful noise until the Lord’ please let Sharon or Andy Moulton know. They are looking to see if there is any interest or talent out there.
