Intimacy With God
Sunday 13th May
Joyce took us through the story of how God has been at work in her life right from when she was just a little girl up until the current day. She shared some of her remarkable highs, such as God providing a new liver (no surgery involved) for a man awaiting a transplant to a Swiss frank that bounced out of nowhere. Along with the highs there have been some lows and it was great to hear how God was faithfully there in those times too. Roman’s 8:28 has definitely been a promise fulfilled in Joyce’s life.
Joyce’s testimony is a real encouragement to do what it says in Matthew 10:7. After 60 years of being a Christian there is still so much more to experience and learn. Everyday presents a new opportunity to walk with God and go ‘upwards and onwards’ from one degree of glory to the next. Do listen to Joyce’s story for a real boost of encouragement to press on into all that God has for us and to experience the peace and fulfilment that comes from being intimate with Jesus.
Next Sunday 20th May
Everyone will be in their Engage@home Groups this week so please don’t turn up at the church halls because we won’t be there!
Check it out………
A fascinating website from Birmingham University has recently gone live! It features past journals such as Pioneer Bulletin, Compass and Fulness Magazine and the university plan to add to these over time. The material contained in these journals covers much of the House Church history from the 70s up to the year 2000. If you are interested, hit the following link and get browsing at Gerald Coates’ Archive.
If you would like to be trained to volunteer in your local care home, Tina English, from Care Home Friends is coming to Bookham on the 23rd May to deliver a days training. The training will begin at 10am and finish at 1pm, or 4pm for those that want to stay for the specialist dementia session. If you would like to attend please contact Sharon Moulton on 07462 134512 for more details. Tina’s vision is for every church to adopt a care home and share God’s love with our community.
Volunteer Positions Available
If anyone would like to serve by helping set up for church on Sunday, or help with the PA, or on the hospitality or welcome teams, please do let Gerald know. It wouldn’t be every Sunday as we do already have a team of helpers but the more volunteers we have the less often the same people need be called upon.
Following changes in personnel Lizzie Forestier-Walker is now the Pioneer Engage Trustee Safeguarding Officer, Anona Coates is the church leaders Safeguarding Officer, Sharon Moulton is the Lead Safeguarding Officer and Aristos Peters is responsible for reviewing DBS checks.
