Sunday 8th July
What a great turn out on an extremely hot afternoon but it was well worth braving the heat as God showed up and blessed us all. Marion started off our meeting by thanking everyone that prayed for the ‘Be Me’ event in Dorking last Friday. The event went down a storm with about 80 girls attending, many of whom went forward to give their lives to Jesus. What a fantastic encouragement to kick our Sunday meeting off with.
Dave Bilbrough then led us in a really powerful time of worship, reminding us that Jesus is in ultimate control, which was so helpful in the light of everything that is happening in Britain at the moment. His Kingdom come His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Two very powerful stories followed from Vimla and Alex. You can hear how Vimla was brought up as a Hindu, rejected by her family, married, had two children, was abused by her husband and eventually ended up in Leatherhead with nothing but her precious children. There she met with Jesus and became a Christian. It is a riveting story of how Jesus rescued her and gave her a family and a new life.
We then wept with Alex as he shared with us a journey to faith whilst still at school, which was followed by a very difficult period through University on to meeting his wife. Alex experienced much suffering, culminating in five years of illness, but God again worked together everything for good. It was so uplifting to hear these two stories so do feel free to listen to the full versions here and be blessed!
Next Sunday 15th July
We will be meeting in our Engage@home Groups so don’t come to the church halls because we won’t be there.
Sunday 22nd July
Gerald will be speaking and Nittaya will be producing ‘Moses the normal guy’ and ‘A bush that would not die’ with our young people.
Saturday 28th July – Men’s Breakfast
Gerald is hosting a men’s breakfast at Mango Bean coffee shop. It would be great for all the men at Engage to be there. A cooked breakfast and drinks will be available for £5 and Andy will be speaking. We will have men from Leatherhead churches present – a great opportunity.
Sunday 12th August – Special Event
Instead of our regular 4pm meeting we will be having a picnic at 4pm on the Park House Grounds by the children’s play area. This is the park inside the one-way system in Leatherhead. Bring food/drink, maybe a football, chairs, blankets AND DO INVITE FAMILY AND FRIENDS! Gary and Joyce will be overseeing this event – any questions feel free to Facebook Gerald or call 07711078915.

The material contained in these journals covers much of the House Church history from the 70s up to the year 2000.
