Summer Holiday Season
Sunday August 5th
It’s the holiday season so lots of people are away enjoying the good weather! Some of those that haven’t gone away still enjoyed the weather and had their Engage@home Group out in the garden, kicking off with a BBQ followed by interesting conversation around spiritual gifts. With the sun shining, good food and fellowship, the afternoon sped by and the discussion went off on many different tangents. Life is interesting and we are so blessed in this country to have so much freedom and prosperity. We are mindful of our sisters and brothers in places like Venezuela (and many other parts of the world) who are not so fortunate and who are struggling to even afford a loaf of bread. Come Lord Jesus and help us to play our part in bringing your kingdom down to this wonderful earth you have given us. Help us to be relevant and effective. Amen!
Next Sunday 12th August – Special Event
Instead of our regular 4pm meeting we will be having a picnic at 4pm on the Park House Grounds by the children’s play area. This is the park inside the one-way system in Leatherhead. Bring food/drink, maybe a football, chairs, blankets AND DO INVITE FAMILY AND FRIENDS! Gary and Joyce will be overseeing this event.
Churches Together In Leatherhead – Men’s Breakfast
It was our turn again to host the men’s breakfast so Gerald rebooked Mangobean, who did us proud by providing another great spread for the guys. The turnout was average with about 15 attending and Andy gave his testimony, receiving a round of applause afterwards.
New Prayer Event
Our leaders have endorsed a suggestion that we meet at 3.45pm on our Sundays at church halls to get some information, instruction and pray together for the church, our mission and the region. We would love you all to join us, including the children. We started this the last time we met all together at church halls and will be continuing when we all meet together again next at the end of August.
Sunday 2nd September
If anyone would like to join Gerald in attending the inauguration of the new Methodist minister Jan Hofmeyr from South Africa, do feel free to turn up for 3pm at the Methodist Church in Leatherhead. We do want to welcome Jan to Leatherhead and pray that there will be many opportunities for us to work together in the future.

A fascinating website from Birmingham University has recently gone live! It features past journals such as Pioneer Bulletin, Compass and Fulness Magazine and the university plan to add to these over time. The material contained in these journals covers much of the House Church history from the 70s up to the year 2000. If you are interested, hit the following link and get browsing at Gerald Coates’ Archive.
Following changes in personnel Lizzie Forestier-Walker is now the Pioneer Engage Trustee Safeguarding Officer, Anona Coates is the church leaders Safeguarding Officer, Sharon Moulton is the Lead Safeguarding Officer and Aristos Peters is responsible for reviewing DBS checks.
