Where we've come from
Sunday 4th November
This Sunday some were busy having birthdays and fireworks, whilst others were miles away in South Africa. One Engage@home Group took an interesting look back over the decades to see where we have come from and who has influenced us. Cecil Cousins, Campbell McAlpine, Nick Butterworth, Michael Harper, Arthur Wallis, Watchman Nee and many others influenced the development of the early house church movement. It was very moving to think of all the saints that have gone before to enable us to go ahead with the light we now have. Our prayer is that we can be an influence to those around us and maybe help them a little further on their journey as we have been helped.
Next Sunday 11th November
Gerald will be delivering the second part of the series ‘What exactly are WE for?’ Don’t worry if you missed the first part because you can catch up now by listening here. Do feel free to join us this Sunday for the next instalment and invite any friends, family or neighbours who you think might be blessed by what Gerald has to say.
Saturday 10th November
Marion thought people might also be interested to know that Mike Pilavachi (senior pastor at Soul Survivor Watford) is speaking at a one-off event in Reigate. This is due to start at 7pm and is to be held at Reigate Baptist Church, Sycamore Walk, Reigate, RH2 7LR.
Sunday 16th December
This is the day for the Engage Christmas dinner, which will take place at our normal meeting time of 4pm and will still be located in the church halls. This is a ticket only event but is totally free, so please book your seat as early as possible. You can book via sign-up sheets available at each church hall Engage meeting or by emailing Andy at firstname.lastname@example.org – we look forward to seeing you there.
Christmas stars and angels
Calling all men and women knitters! If you can knit and would like to help knit stars and angels for the Churches Together christmas event Cathy Noble has some patterns you can use. The angels have been a feature around Leatherhead for the last few years to remind folks that Jesus is the reason for the season so if you feel you could spare some time to knit a few, we’d be most grateful. You don’t have to be a member of Engage to knit for Leatherhead so please do consider helping out.
